Wrexham basketball Represented in Basketball Wales' Flint 3-on-3 Tournament
Jul 27, 2021, 3:20 pm
To celebrate a return to competitive basketball following the restrictions over the past 16 months, Basketball Wales launched an outdoor 3×3 competition for U14, U16, U18 and senior teams.

After the initial competition in Swansea BW moved up the Jade Jones Pavilion, Flint on Sunday 25th July. The sun shone on the outdoor courts as teams from around North Wales, Wirral, Cheshire and Liverpool arrived to play in Basketball Wales' first 3-on-3 competition. Some readers may have already seen 3-on-3 in the Tokyo Olympics and be aware of the fast pace. Playing first to 21, or highest score after ten minutes, there is no time to relax and all the teams had to get used to the transition from the normal five player, full court game.

The North Wales Basketball Association are keeping everything crossed in hoping that 2021-2022 leagues can begin in October. Now is a great time to contact local clubs for anyone inspired by France's win against the USA in the Olympics. Links to clubs can be found on the North Wales Basketball Association's website.

Wrexham Basketball were well represented, with three Under 16 starters in the winning Dragon Slayers, two teams in the Under 18s and four starters from the senior team winning with their team "From The Side".

Winners:
U14: Pheonix Flames
U16: Dragon Slayers
U18: Bulldogs
Seniors: From the Side
